A Day with the Girls!

It is always so much fun when mom comes to town! We have decided that she really is a sister but in the preexistance volunteered to be the mother. We all went out to breakfast and solved the world's problems and then went to get pedicures!! Even my great neice,Mattie went with us. My sisters MADE ME get BLUE TOE NAILS! What is up with that? It was so ugly I took them off after a week. I don't care if I get called an old lady...I like my mauve colored nails.

My sisters Julene and Sandy, myself, our mother Marlene and Brittney my neice and her daughter all went. The rule is when you get married you get to come along to saturday morning breakfast sometimes and whatever we decide to do that day. Like shopping or maybe a little shopping or even some shopping or something along the lines of shopping he he he !!

It is great living near family!

Hillbilly Hootenany!

A fun night for all of us! We moved into a really fun ward. Mostly young people. Kirk and I were asked to dress up and play a part in a skit in which the Bishop and his wife needed to be remarried due to the fact that their weddin' license was really a license to hunt squirels!!! So I was the maid of honor and Kirk was the best man! (some of the pictures are fuzzy, sorry) Kirk was reluctant but of course his better side came out when you put a costune on him! He kept stealing the show! I would look over at him and think to myself..."Dang!! he just beat me to the punch line again!!" apparently we were a big hit. Being new in this ward made it even funner to show them the silly side of us! he he he he he

They asked me to pull out my guitar and sing a few tunes so I pulled out a few helpers. The song "Mama don't 'llow" made the audience clap along with the kazoo and spoons added! I don't believe Kirk and I broke character once all night!! YEEEE HAAAW!

Christmas in Arizona

Again my sisters and I goofing off! (In our Christmas Pj's! he he he)

And the boy cousins doing the same

Christmas in Arizona was so much fun! My parents and Uncle Bill and Matt came from California. It has been many years since I had Christmas with my family. We had great food, sang lots of songs, played games, opened PJ's for everyone, laughed, prayed and just goofed off all night. Family is the best!

Mom and Dad and us three girls.
(Still in our PJ's)

The Sisters!

On one of the visits to California recently my sisters and I took this photo. It was good to have Jenny there. She lives with my parents so we don't get to see her very often. I like the hands in this photo. We are very affectionate with eachother and have a close relationship as sisters. There is nothing in the world like sisters!

SUNSHINE AND FAMILY!

We moved last year to Arizona from Idaho. We lived the first 12 years of our marriage in California and then the last 16 we lived in Idaho. We all got so tired of the long gloomy winters and missed family so we decided it was time for a move south. I miss my Idaho friends so much but I sure love living near my sisters and their families. I also am closer to my parents. I am LOVING living near family. Kirk travels alot and I don't ever feel lonely anymore. Saturday breakfasts with the sisters are fun and theraputic and family dinners with everyone (about 35 people) are a blast. We take turns hosting dinners twice a month. My cousin Stacy also lives here so we get to spend time with her family also. Since we moved here miracles are happining in our family. All the boys are doing great and moving in good directions in their lives. (trust me this is a miracle!) Kirk's job is going well and I am happier than I have been in many years.

Life is Good.

Kirk and I have been married for 28 years and together for 32 years. I was 15 when we fell madly in love and after waiting for him while he served and LDS mission we married and started our family.Life for us has been wonderful and difficult. I believe the greatest happiness we have had is because of our membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We were taught as youth how to live our lives so that we might be happy. Even the biggest challenges we have experienced have been easier because of our church membership. I am so grateful that I was born into a family that were members of the church and that I married a man who was also a member.
Most of my happiest moments in my life have been within my own family. I always LOVED Family Home Evenings or nights where the whole family was home just being together.I have four GREAT KIDS. Meghan is 27 and married to my favorite son in law(OK my only son in law ever but he is still my favorite!)Mark Durham. They have three darling children, Mark, Chase and Lyssa. Then there is Brian, Taylor and Andrew. I will share more about each of them in future blogs.
I have always loved writing in my journal and so now I hope to make this a kind of journal for me. Be Happy
!
